Dan Shulman-Means is an Emmy-nominated editor, known for investigative and character-driven documentaries.

After earning his MFA from the University of Southern California, Dan launched his career as the assistant editor on Paul Schrader’s independent feature The Canyons. He went on to sharpen his editorial skills in the commercial world with Stun Creative and on fast-paced, unscripted series such as AMC’s Game of Arms and Discovery’s Airplane Repo.

Dan has since become known for his work on acclaimed sports documentaries, including Showtime’s Shut Up and Dribble—nominated for Outstanding Editing, Long-Form at the 2019 Sports Emmys—and STAND, which received a 2024 nomination at the Sports Emmys for Outstanding Long-Form Documentary.

More recently, Dan has focused on investigative storytelling, editing high-profile documentaries such as Jussie Smollett: Anatomy of a Hoax, Sherri Papini: Caught in the Lie, and an episode of The New York Times Presents. He lives in Los Angeles.
